Getting outdoors!

Kenleys offers a large communal outside space set on 2 levels with a variety of outdoor equipment, from bikes, scooters and trikes, to hula-hoops, telephone tubes, large tyres, balancing beams, tunnels and tents, wigwams and a variety of ball games. For wet days, we have a soft play equipment available to all rooms to allow the children of all ages to play and wear off any excess energy! We regularly play games with the children and sometimes this includes a large parachute! on wetter days we wrap the children up in wellies and (kenleys own) full waterproofs and jump in puddles or turn on the sprinklers and let the children soak us!

We also have a separate growing garden, where we encourage the children to plant, grow and care for fruit and vegetable plants which we then harvest (if we're successful!) for all the nursery children to try.

We have some pets around the nursery which are handled / fed by the children (allergies permitting). The children are not responsible for cleaning out these animals but are encouraged to talk about their habitats as well as feed and handle them whilst supervised.
